Following and the response inbox
Control which issue and timeline conversations appear in your inbox.
Outcome
Keep the response inbox focused on work you own or intentionally follow.
How inbox routing works
- Open conversations appear when you follow their issue or timeline.
- A direct @mention appears even when you do not follow the resource.
- Creating an issue or timeline follows it automatically for you. You can unfollow afterward.
- Replying to a mentioned thread clears that mention from your inbox. You can also dismiss it without replying.
- Following is separate from email notification preferences.
Follow from a resource
- Open an issue or timeline.
- Choose Follow to add its open conversations to your inbox.
- Choose the follower count to manage other internal organization members.
- For a private timeline, give a member timeline access before they can follow it.
Review everything you follow
- Open Settings > Notifications.
- Choose Following.
- Search by issue identifier, issue title, or timeline name.
- Use Following to unfollow work you no longer want in your inbox.
Unfollowing only changes future inbox routing. It does not delete comments, issues, timelines, or notification history. Manage other followers from the issue or timeline itself.
